Buds score twice at Northern NSW NPL Football Awards
We scored twice in the 2021 National Premier Leagues (NPL) Northern NSW Football Awards announced last month. We took out the Club of the Year and the Fair Play honours. These awards are recognition of the “Adamstown Way” and the work by the club’s players, parents, Board, coaches and other volunteers to manage the organisation and develop our players on and off the field.
The Newcastle Weekly featured us in its story on the Awards. You can read more and see all the award winners here.
New all-weather training facility – tax deductible donations
The Board has submitted a grant application for our proposed new all-weather synthetic training pitch. Fingers crossed!
We still need to raise funds for this project. We’re doing this via the Play for Purpose raffles which offers great prizes. Click here to buy your tickets in the next raffle.
If raffles aren’t your thing but you still want to contribute, the Australian Sports Foundation has approved it as a tax deductible project. You or others can make a tax-deductible donation here.
Also, check out our new fund-raising page on our website for other ways that we can help to raise funds for the club.
Back at training
It is great to be out of lockdown and back at training.
All squads (Under 9s to 1st Grade) will train before we break in early December. For your safety and those of other players, parents and volunteers we encourage you to get vaccinated and continue to practice social distancing and other COVID safe measures. Please follow the directions of club volunteers who will be implementing our COVID Safety Plan.
Some JDL & NPL Youth vacancies
Our teams are all but finalised for 2022. We have a few vacancies in the 11s, 15s and 16s. Contact Chris at coaching@adamstownrosebudfc.org.au ASAP if you know of players interested in trialling.
REMINDER: Get a sponsor and play for free (no rego fees)
This year, we’re trying to make it cheaper to play for the Rosebuds. In previous years, we’ve asked players to pay their registration then find a sponsor to top this up. If players bring a player sponsor to the Club then their registration fee is fully covered out of that sponsorship money.
JDL player sponsor ($1,500 + GST)
NPL player sponsor ($2,000 + GST)
Sponsors may be able to claim the sponsorship as a business expense (seek advice from a financial professional). Our Club will promote their support in a variety of ways including on our website and during ground announcements. Here’s the link for player or team sponsors to use.
Our sponsorship manager, Dora, is securing major sponsors. If you know of a business looking to sponsor the Club email sponsorship@adamstownrosebudfc.org.au or contact Dora on 0403 645 627.

Your new Board
The Annual General Meeting was held on November 3. Our Annual Report is here. The 2022 Board is:
• Rick Naylor – President
• Craig Eardley – Vice-President
• Nicola Rosenthal – Secretary
• Kathryn Short – Treasurer
• Chris Dale – Football Director
Many thanks to Andrew Licata, Dan Sullivan and Naomi Freuden for their tireless contribution to the Club on the previous Board(s). Our recent Club of the Year award could not have been achieved without their efforts in 2021. Whilst Dan will be leaving the Rosebuds, Andrew and Naomi will contribute to contribute to the club in other roles next season.
Volunteer for operational roles
Thanks to those who have volunteered to help-out with the many operational roles that keep our Club running to benefit players.
Dora De Roer – Sponsorship
Nicola Rosenthal – Gear & Merchandise
Andres Munoz – Facility Management at Adamstown Oval
Karen Melinz – Social Media & Photography
Craig Eardley – Communications
Andrew Licata – Fundraising
As well as having more people to support those above, we still need help with:
• Events Management (season launches, social events, end of season presentations)
• Matchday Coordinators (Seniors)
• Matchday Coordinators (Youth).
Even if you can only spare a few hours a month, we can split roles between people. If you are able to help please email secretary@adamstownrosebudfc.org.au. Although the new season is months away we do most of our planning and preparations now so it will be helpful to have most of these roles filled before the end of November.
