Welcome Shane Cansdell-Sherriff

Shane Cansdell-Sherriff

Adamstown Rosebud Football Club is pleased to announce that highly regarded footballer Shane Cansdell-Sherriff has been appointed to the role of Head Coach of the club’s First Grade team. Shane will step into the role after a lengthy playing career throughout the UK for Rochdale, Tranmere Rovers, Shrewsbury Town, Preston North End and Burton Albion amassing 370 appearances. A further 3 seasons were spent with Danish Superliga side AGF Aarhus with over 80 appearances. He also represented Australia as an U17 player in the 1999 Youth World Cup and in the 2004 Australian Olympic side.

Shane returned to Australia in 2016 to play with Football NSW NPL side Manly United FC, and then to Maitland Magpies in NNSWF NPL in 2017. He has a strong football vision for our club, with an emphasis on player  development and youth progression from 1st Grade through to Under 13s – a vision which matches what we as a club strive to achieve.

Our club would also like to acknowledge and thank Nick Webb and Peter McGuinness for their respective contributions to the head coach role during the 2017 season, and we wish them well in their ongoing coaching positions.
